Shiou Chieh-kai to play the lead in new drama
21 Mar – Following reports that Alyssa Chia is soon to make her television comeback, it was revealed that her husband, Taiwanese actor Shiou Chieh-kai will also be working on a new project, but this time as a lead actor.
As reported on ET Today, sources recently revealed that Shiou will be playing the protagonist in the upcoming sci-fi drama, "Yu Yue Guo Qu", written by Li Xiaoping of "The Pawnshop No. 8" and "Forgotten" fame.
It will also be the first lead character he will play in two years, after the actor decided to only take on supporting roles since becoming a father to two daughters, Bubu and Bobo.
The 16-episode drama will begin filming in April.
When asked about the upcoming project, Shiou's manager responded, "We have actually received a lot of offers from Taiwanese and mainland productions before, but Shiou has a lot of things to consider before accepting any work. But now he has begun preparing for the upcoming project and is looking forward to it."
