Shila Amzah confirms son's level one autism

27 Jun - Shila Amzah recently confirmed that her son Seth Uwais has been diagnosed with autism.

The singer, who had previously spoken about her son's speech delay, recently took to social media to share the diagnosis to her followers and fans, saying that the five-year-old Seth has been diagnosed with level one autism.

"All this while, I felt it was either autism or ADHD," she said. "The doctor recommends to continue with his therapy and for him to be sent to a school that accepts children of autism."

However, Shila said that she is relieved after receiving the diagnosis, as it meant that she and husband Ubai will now be able to approach the situation more effectively.

"As parents, once our kid is diagnosed with autism, we know what to do then. So, I hope that Seth will be able to grow up and learn effectively. Please pray so that we can take good care of him," she said.

In another video, Shila said that she noticed the differences between Seth and other children in the fact that he didn't speak for three and a half years of his life, walking on tippy-toes, expressing excitement in an extreme way, and having sensory issues.

She also said that Ubai's presence in their lives truly changed her son for the better, and that Seth began to want to experience many things including playing ball and eating ice cream with him.
