Shawn Yue apologises for error on website

17 Feb – Shawn Yue recently took to social media to apologise for an error made by his fashion label MADNESS that sparked anger among some of the more patriotic Chinese netizens.

As reported on Mingpao, the Communist Youth League recently criticised the label for listing Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan as countries on its official website, instead of 'Greater China'.

Many of them begin expressing their frustration with the actor, and accused him of being a supporter of the Umbrella movement.

In a Weibo post he shared an hour after, Shawn stated that he was wrong for not overseeing the brand adequately, which resulted in such a big error and misunderstanding.

"I must share the blame and I am very sorry. We will conduct a profound review and will ensure such an error will not happen again in the future," he added.

The website had since changed the word "Countries" to "Where We Ship to".
