Shaun Tam doesn't want dad Ti Lung to work anymore
12 Mar – Many people would love to see Shaun Tam collaborate with his father, who is the famous veteran actor Ti Lung, in an acting project again. However, the actor recently admitted that he would rather have his father stay home and rest instead.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor, who sat down for an interview, stated that he is worried about Ti Lung working at his age, especially after hearing so many veteran actors passing away after completing their series, including late actors Lily Leung and Savio Tsang.
"A good health is very important. My father fainted a few years ago while he was working in mainland China. He was too hot but refused to remove his layer of clothes, and instead worked in his costume in a 40-degree weather. I told him not to ever go to work again," he said.
Shaun stated that the older generation of actors demanded a lot of themselves and would not be able to withstand the reality of ageing.
"His memory isn't what it used to be. I have seen a lot of veteran actors who used to be able to deliver ten pages of lines now can't remember two lines," he said, adding that he would rather see his father enjoy his time with the family and grandchildren.
Shaun, who is an only child, has two children with wife, Yann Ren.
