Sharon Yeung recovering well from burns

4 Dec – Hong Kong martial arts actress Sharon Yeung Pan Pan recently made her first appearance in public since the fire on the set of the movie "Amazing Spring" left her with seven percent of second-degree burns on parts of her body.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who attended the press conference of the said movie, appeared mostly unaffected by except for the burn marks on her right wrist.

She said, "The recovery has been great. I went to see a beautician and was told that I didn't need any facelift."

Speaking about the fire, which unexpectedly spread out during a burning scene, Sharon stated that they were working out a scene in which Law Kar Ying, who plays her husband in the movie, pulls her out of the fire.

"I think it was God's arrangement. Since I am an experienced stunt person, I reminded everyone that if it gets too hot, they should scatter to the sides instead of backing up," she said.

Sharon stated that when the actual fire reached her, she tried to turn around but fell down. Luckily, someone pulled her out before things got worse.

"Because my shoes and pants were wet, only my ankle was injured. However 30 percent of my right arm was injured, as well as my mouth, eyes, nose, eyebrows and eyelashes," she said.

The upcoming movie will be released on Lunar New Year.

As to whether she had asked for compensation, Sharon stated that she decided not to do so since the producers were thoughtful enough to invite newcomers and veteran stars to do a movie with them.
