Shakira and Karol G Lead the 2023 Latin Grammy Nominations: See the Full List Here

Hispanic Heritage Month just started on September 15, and what better way to kick off the celebration than by uplifting and honoring Latinx artists? On Tuesday, September 19, the Latin Recording Academy hosted a livestream to announce this year's nominees. And, I'm going to cut riiight to the chase since I know what you're here for: the artists leading the charge with the most noms are Mexican singer Édgar Barrera, VMA Video Vanguard recipient Shakira, and breakout star Karol G.

Colombian singers Shakira, Karol G, and Camilo—who have all worked with Édgar, btw—are up for seven awards each, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Édgar, who's worked with ~iconic~ musicians ranging from Madonna (yes, that Madonna) to fellow nominee Peso Pluma, is up for 13 awards including Best Pop Song, Record, Album, Songwriter, and Producer of the Year. He also snagged two nominations in the Song of the Year category and three noms in the Best Tropical Song and Best Regional Song categories. Long story short: it's Édgar Barrera's world, and we're just living in it.

Of course, the Latin Recording Academy couldn't forget about Benito, otherwise known as one of the biggest artists in the world, Bad Bunny. He's up for five awards thanks to collaborations with Grupo Frontera, Eladio Carrion, and Arcangel.
