Shaina Magdayao admits nearly quitting showbiz

14 Aug – Although she has been seen in more award-winning films lately, Shaina Magdayao recently revealed that there was a time in her career that she felt like quitting showbiz.

As reported on Push, the actress, who spoke to the media at the press conference of her new TV series, "Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit", shared that it was four or five years ago that she started questioning her place in the film industry.

"When I was younger, acting was fun. Then it started to feel like work. Whenever I was sleepless, I would start questioning it. And then it comes to a point where I felt like I have done everything," she said.

However, Magdayao admitted that she was fortunate that she had since been given good serious roles in films and television.

"I took it as a challenge," she said.

The actress had since starred in serious films like Paul Soriano's "Dukot" and Lav Diaz's "Ang Panahon Ng Halimaw". She also worked with the latter again this year in "Ang Hupa".
