Hollywood actor Brad Pitt arrived in Mumbai from Japan on Wednesday (24 May), during which he sat down with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at a press conference to promote upcoming Netflix show “War Machine”.

Slated to be out on Netflix on 26 May, Brad Pitt plays United States General Glen McMahon in an absurd war story written and directed by David Michod.

But there were no talks about war or fights during his sit-down with Shah Rukh Khan. The recently divorced 53-year-old actor rubbed shoulders with Khan in India’s financial capital and spoke in-depth about Bollywood movies as well as his lack of dancing abilities.

Brad Pitt can’t dance or sing

According to AFP, the American actor admitted that he would never make it in Bollywood because he couldn’t dance or sing.

“I wouldn’t make it in Bollywood because I can’t dance or sing,” said Pitt.

To which King Khan joked, “We can make anyone dance. I just spread my arms and do nothing, that’s a step.”

Pitt was also in India to attend a screening of the film.

Hollywood can take over Bollywood

Shah Rukh Khan also said that Hollywood had the potential to take over Bollywood, if the people in the Indian film industry don’t step up, according to a report by IANS.

“If we don’t hone up few areas especially script writing, screenplay, marketing, professionalism and technology, we will be taken over by Hollywood,” said Khan, who has been in the industry for 25 years.

“The language is becoming less and less of a barrier… There are more digital platforms and easy accessibility to content from all around the world. Hollywood has done (that), and we need to learn from them and adapt. There is big fear (of Hollywood taking over Bollywood),” the Dilwale star was quoted as saying.

Brad Pitt and Shah Rukh Khan are both stars and actors

During the press conference, Shah Rukh Khan also spoke about the similarities between him and Pitt in front of journalists, according to India.com.

“As an actor, you need to love yourself the least. As a star, you need to love yourself the most. Both Brad and I are both – stars and actors,” he was quoted as saying.

Shah Rukh Khan dedicates an Instagram post to Brad Pitt

After the event, Shah Rukh Khan posted a photo of himself and Brad Pitt on his Instagram account (@iamsrk) wishing Pitt the best of luck for “War Machine”.

He said, “My best to David and Brad for the release of War Machine on @netflix. Pleasure to meet u both & Brad the dance remains.”

This is the second time that Pitt has been to India. His last visit was in 2006 with then wife Angeline Jolie and children Zahara and Maddox.
