Selena Gomez Says Benny Blanco Caused an "Awkward" Moment at the Emmys
It involves a chance meeting with Jason Segel.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco had a cute date night together at the Emmys last month, and their evening out almost ended without a hitch — that is until Gomez found herself in an awkward situation that her boyfriend unintentionally added fuel to.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Only Murders in the Building actress confessed that she has a “weird habit” of having a comfort show on in the background to fall asleep to, the latest being How I Met Your Mother. So when Gomez saw the show's star, Jason Siegel, at the Emmys, she waved to him only to later realize he was actually waving to a different person behind her.

The humiliation didn't stop there, though. “He felt awkward and inclined to then come over,” the Rare Beauty founder explained. “And then my boyfriend goes [to Segel], ‘Oh, she falls asleep to you every night.’” The actress recalled looking at Blanco with horror and hilariously exclaiming, “That’s weird!”
Emmy's awkwardness aside, Gomez told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1's New Music Daily, that her relationship with the producer is "lovely," stating that it is the "safest" she's ever felt with a partner.
“Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she told Lowe. “And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel, and it's been really lovely, and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome.”
