Selena Gomez Finishes Her Long Tease

Selena Gomez has concluded her 9-Instagram long, multi-day tease for her upcoming "Back to You" music video. "Back to You," Gomez's first music video of the year, is out Tuesday, everyone. "Me when I finally get to tell you guys the #BackToYou Video is out tomorrow," she captioned her last shot, which her good friend Elle Fanning liked. It seemed inevitable that the ninth shot would be the announcement post, as it completes Gomez's three rows of "Back to You" Instagrams. The nine teasers-which include the lyrics of song, subtitled-do hint that the video may be a little nod to Gomez's on-off romance with Justin Bieber. Her love interest in the video, a blond guy, has very Bieber-esque hair. Casting love interests that look like your real-life exes is something that Calvin Harris and The Weeknd have notably done, with Taylor Swift and Bella Hadid respectively.

Gomez also told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe that this track is personal, not just written to fit 13 Reasons Why's plot line even though it appears on the soundtrack of the show. "With this song, it’s a very special record," she said. "I want it to be a beautiful message in a really complicated way but really fun. But that I think ‘Back to You’ was more of my special project that I wanted to give to season 2."

Gomez generally had a pretty low-key May. After attending the Met Gala (and joking about her criticized tan multiple times), Gomez did an event for Puma and made an appearance (and heartfelt) speech at Taylor Swift's concert. Her social media presence, minus the nine Instagrams, has been pretty minimal. But she did use her friend Ashley Cook's account this weekend to tease her cute guy friend, Hillsong Young & Free worship leader and songwriter Aodhán King, for posting a pretty intense selfie. (King and Gomez spent time together with friends during her Australian vacation this spring.)

Gomez is officially single. She and her ex Justin Bieber haven't been seen together, besides once attending the same church service separately, in months. This is in part because Bieber, who is no longer seeing Baskin Champion either, hasn't been in LA. "He doesn't want to stay put in Los Angeles," a source told E! last week. "He is in a really good place since splitting with Selena and is enjoying the single life. He has a lot coming up and is working on new music, and isn't focused on dating right now."
