Demi Lovato was reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles following a drug overdose on Tuesday evening, and now fans and fellow celebrities alike are speaking out with messages of support.

And while Demi's old friend and fellow Disney alum Selena Gomez has remained quiet since the news of Demi's reported overdose broke, Sel's mom Mandy Teefey has issued a heartfelt statement via Instagram.

Teefey shared a photo of Selena and Demi celebrating Selena's sixteenth birthday, and wrote "This was exactly 10 yrs ago at S, Sweet 16. @ddlovato we love you. The world is a better place because of these infectious smiles. My heart hurts."

Demi's condition has been described as "stable," and her spokesperson confirmed via statement that she's awake and with her loved ones.

"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy."

Initially, TMZ reported that Demi overdosed on heroin, but sources close to the situation told Peoplethat wasn't true. The nature of the overdose remains unknown as of this morning.

In June, the singer released a song called "Sober" in which she seemingly admitted to a relapse: "Momma I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor," the lyrics read. "To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore."
