Searching for Joyful Clothes? Look No Further Than Rosie Assoulin’s Resort 2025 Collection

In search of joyful clothes? Look no further than Rosie Assoulin’s resort collection.

This season, Assoulin said she desired more femininity, but also wanted to get all the “exciting, fun ideas out.” So she continued to imbue her strong collection with happy colors, exciting prints, rich textures and a sense of optimism within each silhouette.

“But we don’t leave behind practicality at all.…It’s very wearable and easy to throw on, not too much being asked of you, that’s something in my head right now,” she said.

Within resort, there were looks for every type of occasion. For casual jaunts: fashionable green plaid overalls or a matching asymmetrical fluted skirt (equally fun in classic khaki). For a “Montana wedding,” as she suggested: a romantic baby yellow plaid tea dress. For red-carpet worthy occasions? Body-hugging, black-and-white tuxedo gowns with peek-a-boo linings and a va-va-voom red number. Check, check and check.

Another theme throughout was the push-pull of structure (a la origami-like folds) and fluidity, which worked well across myriad fabric-blocked styles with playful details. For instance, easy one-shoulder tanks with padded “banana” asymmetrical sleeves (a design detail brought back from the archive); a combination slip-like dress with tonal organza “shadows”; and a black topcoat and breezy blouse with braided rainbow raffia trims. In addition, a grouping khaki and blue-and-white striped mixed numbers, like a minidress with hand-tucked, voluminous skirt offered a nice play on the popular preppy fashion trend.

“We’re having fun,” she said, pointing out polished jackets with a detachable, silky cowl neck or poufy floral jacquard sleeves. “Speaking to tailoring, without being so tailoring.”
