After releasing a collaboration with Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini earlier this month, Scholl Shoes has unveiled a tie-up with another Italian brand.

The footwear company linked with high-end outerwear specialist Khrisjoy on a capsule collection combining the former’s staple designs and penchant for comfort with the latter’s bold aesthetic.

Dubbed “Khrisjoy Loves Scholl,” the line reinterprets Scholl’s signature Pescura clogs, which became fashionable in the ’60s, when French actresses wore them to vacation on the French Riviera.

In the two iterations, the upper is rendered in a glittery version, while a heart shape enclosing the Khrisjoy logo is carved in the wooden sole, popping up on the heel. In particular, the Pescura Heel style comes with a white glittery strap and natural-hued sole, while the Pescura Ibiza version is hand-painted in a blackberry color, matching the tonal glittery upper with the sole and 2.55-inch heel.

Retailing between 250 euros and 290 euros, the capsule is part of Khrisjoy’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection and is available at both brands’ e-commerce. It is also carried at three selected concept stores in luxury resort destinations, including Russo in Capri and Fiacchini in Forte dei Marmi in Italy, as well as Vinicio in Puerto Banus, Spain.

In addition to Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini – which resulted in a bold, cherry-hued style with a vinyl upper featuring three buckles – over the years Scholl has launched collaborations with the likes of Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto, Ganni, Eres, Honey Dijon, Issimo and Re/Done, among others.

As for Khrisjoy, which is controlled by the Alsara Investment Group, the brand has formerly developed capsule collections with Nigo’s Bape by A Bathing Ape and Kenzo. The tie-up with Scholl follows the news of the brand’s cofounder and creative director Marzia Bellotti parting ways from the company, as reported earlier this month.

Bellotti established the brand in 2017 with Maurizio Purificato, who exited the company in December, when Alsara took full control of Khrisjoy. The Switzerland-based private investment company first acquired a majority, controlling stake in the label in 2021, and since the acquisition, it has invested in bolstering the brand’s management team, developing its wholesale distribution, launching e-commerce operations and expanding product categories.

Positioned in the luxury range of the market and made in Italy, Khrisjoy has garnered a cult following with its Khris cocooning hooded puffer jacket. The brand is available at 200 stockists worldwide and held its first official presentation during Milan Fashion Week in February, to be followed with the unveiling of its spring 2025 collection in Milan in September.

Along with Khrisjoy, Alsara’s portfolio includes Akoni, which produces eyewear for its namesake brand and is a licensee of Valentino and Balmain; investor Bidayat; design venture Fromm, which has been staging presentations in Milan during Design Week and Salone del Mobile; Egypt-based jewelry brand Azza Fahmy and handbag label Okhtein, and Flyroom.

The group is also gearing up to revive the Walter Albini brand, one of the founders of Italy’s ready-to-wear, and, last month, it revealed it was launching a brand called Retori, based in Milan, made in Italy and designed by Salma Rachid.

Alsara was founded by chairman Rachid Mohamed Rachid, who is also the chairman of Valentino and chief executive officer of the brand’s parent company Mayhoola, which also owns Balmain and Italian menswear brand Pal Zileri.
