‘Saturday Night Live’ Hits Season High Ratings With Tom Hanks, Lady Gaga & More Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton

With the November elections near and with popular host Tom Hanks and musical guest Lady Gaga, Saturday Night Live had its best ratings delivery this season. Last night’s show, which kicked off with a parody of the third and final debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, drew a 6.1 Live+same day rating in the metered market households and a 3.0 in adults 18-49 in the markets with local people meters. The numbers eclipsed the previous season high marks logged by the season opener (5.8 in HH, 2.7 in 18-49).

These are the highest SNL overnights since Oct. 25, 2008, the eve of the 2008 Presidential election (7.1 in HH, 4.0 in 18-49 with host Jon Hamm and musical guest Coldplay).

Last night’s telecast is up +45% versus the show’s October 2015 average for originals in metered-market households (6.1 vs. 4.2) and up +50% in 18-49 in the local people meters (3.0 vs. 2.0 for October 2015).
