Sarika Choy denies receiving spousal support from ex-husband

28 May – Hong Kong model Sarika Choy recently denied rumours that she is still getting spousal support from ex-husband Raymond Young.

As reported on Mingpao, the model, who suddenly gained a lot of attention following reports of Raymond's recently-debunked extramarital affair with Elaine Yiu, shared that there is no truth to rumours that she has been getting spousal support from Raymond from the sales of their home in Causeway Bay.

In her Instagram post published recently, Sarika stated that she has always been independent since she entered the modelling industry at the age of 16.

"I started dating Raymond in 2007, who was working the floor at Dragon-I at the time. We worked hard and used our money to buy the property in Causeway Bay as our family home. We got married in 2011 and enjoyed our lifestyle," she said.

Sarika stated that it was difficult for her when they decided to part ways in 2017, which is why she decided to move out and live with her family instead. In 2018, she and Raymond decided to sell their joint property and split the profit, which she then used to buy her current residence in Happy Valley.

"Raymond and I both agreed that I will not take even a dollar of spousal support. I believe that I can support myself with my own abilities and would rather not be a burden to him," she added.

Lastly, Sarika sends her blessings to Elaine and to everybody who was impacted by the previous scandal.
