Samsung Pay expands to new countries and strikes partnership with Mastercard

Samsung Pay

Samsung Pay has been launched in Malaysia, Russia and Thailand, bringing to 10 the number of countries where the contactless payment feature is being made available.

It's one of several new features announced by the South Korean electronics company. They include a new partnership with Mastercard that will simplify payments for online purchases and more support for in-app purchases in the US.

Mastercard holders and users of Samsung Pay are now being offered an express checkout option that eliminates the need to fill out online forms and quickly completes the transaction.

And beginning next month, consumers in the US will be offered discounts and coupons for nearby stores and restaurants within the Samsung Pay app, which can also be used to purchase products on select merchant apps like Velocity, Raise, Fancy and Hello Vine.
