Samantha Ko enjoys being hated in "My Unfair Lady"

26 May - TVB actress Samantha Ko admitted that playing the villainess Tin Mut in "My Unfair Lady" was a breakthrough for her.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at a celebratory event for the said drama, shared that she was surprised - although pleased - with the reception towards her character.

"Although viewers hated Tin Mut and even expressed it on the streets, I am just happy that her presence gave a deep impact on others," she said.

Samantha also stressed that while she and her character are both from the mainland, the similarity ends there.

"The character Tin Mut is very calm collected, but in reality, I am always impatient and a real chatterbox," she said.

And while the actress hopes to have equally challenging roles in the future, Samantha said that she would like to play other kinds of characters rather than being typecast as the villain.

When mentioned that the character was not as sexy as her previous performances, Samantha said that she is not saying no to being sexy just for the sake of it.

"I won't resist doing sexy characters, but I hope to do more than that, and not limit myself," she said.
