Sam Hui to hold online concert and donate to concert employees
9 Apr – Singer-songwriter Sam Hui recently announced that he will be donating a huge sum of money to help the 21 employees who have been with him throughout his many shows.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer shared the news at the same time he revealed that he will be holding his online concert, "2020 Sam Hui in the Sam Boat" on 12 April.
Earlier, it was revealed that the Tom Lee Music concert department has been disbanded following the "ice age" that has been plaguing the Hong Kong music industry, with many of its employees struggling to find other jobs. Since Sam has been working with these people since his first concert, he decided that it is vital for him to be the one to help.
"This concert will not only cheer the people of Hong Kong, but also hopefully help support a group of heroes working behind the scenes that have been with me for the past 30 years," he said.
At the same time, Sam said that he hopes that the performance would inspire other singers to unite and assist each other in getting past this difficult period.
