Ryzal Ibrahim will not apologise for recent "B40 routine" TikTok video

15 May - Social media influencer Ryzal Ibrahim has no plans to apologise for his recent video, which has sparked the anger of netizens.

The content creator and Durian Kimchi channel co-founder recently sparked criticism after he released a funny video about the life routine of the B40, which is the Bottom 40 percent of the income class in Malaysia, showing the supposed "life routine" of the said class as they show off expensive accessories and buy items that are above their means.

Many slammed Ryzal for the post, mostly claiming that the content creator was being arrogant and pretending to know how life is for the said class.

In response, Ryzal, who is most known for marrying South Korean Maryam You Narae, also a content creator, stated that he will not apologise for the post as he doesn't think that he is guilty of anything.

"I was not insulting them. I was raising awareness. It is what is happening in our daily lives right now. My intention was to let the public be aware of this," he added.

Ryzal also stated that the whole issue could just be a case of lost in translation, as his joke was "too deep".

"Maybe they weren't able to understand the real meaning of what I wanted to convey. I will be more careful in uploading content in the future," he added.
