Ruru Madrid discouraged, then motivated by "Lolong"

4 Jul – Ruru Madrid recently admitted that he both nearly quits showbiz and then felt reinvigorated about his acting career because of his new drama, "Lolong".

As reported on PEP, the actor, whose drama is finally airing three years after it was first announced, shared that he lost an appetite for his career back when they started shooting after the pandemic and several other issues which had delayed production.

"It got to a point that I felt that maybe this is not the right career for me. I wanted to go back to school then," he said.

But then Ruru stated that he prayed a lot and listened to others, realising that he was lucky to be given such a project in his tenth year in showbiz.

"I was just very lucky to be part of this project and the material is really good... And it would not be as good if it wasn't for director Rommel Penesa," he said.

Ruru said that his life changed a lot because of "Lolong".

"The show has restored my commitment to my work. I became stronger because of it. No matter the hardship that I have to go through, I know I can handle it now, because I have handled it here in Lolong," he added.

"Lolong" will be premiering on GMA Telebabad on 4 July,
