RuPaul May Be the Most Organized and Prepared Traveler — See the 'Drag Race' Star's Packing Hack

Thank Ru the next time you need a packing checklist and a method to organize everything.

Ru Paul is already well known as one of the best performers in the world. And now, thanks to a quick TikTok video, he’s showing the world he’s a top talent at packing an everyday bag, too.

"I just want to walk you through my process when I change bags,” he shared in the video while unpacking what appears to be the Saint Laurent Sac De Jour bag. And right off the bat, he shares the major packing secret — bags within bags.

"With this bag, I have all of my mesh bags within my bag. This is so when I switch bags, I don't miss something that I need while the transfer happens," Ru said, highlighting just how great a job mini bags can be, so you are always organized from smaller handbags to check-in luggage.

In the first mesh bag, Ru reveals it's dedicated to electronics and a few knick-knacks.

"This has electronics stuff in it. Headphones. These are attachments, matches are in here. Pen in here, tablet, a toothpick, lip balm, valium, just in case," Ru explained.

There was one more thing in there that all media professionals and aspiring singers alike will appreciate, "A little miniature tape recorder. You never know."

Beyond the gadgets, Ru is also carrying a little aspirin should an ache or pain hit, double-stick tape because "you always need double stick tape, it is the cure for a myriad of problems that could arise."

And, naturally, all the everyday needs like keys, a phone, a wallet, and reading glasses.

There was also one other mini bag that we can absolutely get behind, which was a bag dedicated just to carrying a scarf, which tends to get snagged or tangled in larger bags.

"This is a little speaker," Ru noted, pulling out an adorable pink portable speaker. "Sometimes I switch cars too, and the older cars don't have the music that I want, so I carry this."

Lastly, Ru pulled out a tiny canister of baking soda, which he explained, he uses should an upset stomach arise, by putting a teaspoon in some water.

So, why all the preparedness just to switch bags? "I was a Boy Scout, so I have always lived with this creed: Be prepared," Ru said.
