Ruffa Gutierrez not in a rush to settle down
20 Jul – Although she is now said to be dating actor-politician Herbert Bautista, Ruffa Gutierrez recently stated that she is not in a rush to settle down anytime soon.
The actress, who spoke to Dr Vicki Belo in the latter's vlog recently, shared that she loves being a single mum and is too busy with work anyway.
"I just want to take things slow. I don't believe in whirlwind romances. Although for some couples it works," she said. "I really want to get to know the person and I think the more you spend time with a person, the more you converse, you'll get to know more about the one that you're dating."
However, Ruffa, who was last married to Turkish businessman Yılmaz Bektaş, admitted that her two daughters have already given her their blessings.
"Lorin's already in college studying in LA and Venice is going to be in college soon and they were telling me, 'Mum, it's inevitable that we're going to be leaving the house'. I think the kids respect naman who I'm with. I won't introduce them to someone that is not worth it. I think for Lorin and Venice, as long as I'm happy, they're happy for me. I've only introduced them to two people," she said.
"I think at this point in my life, I don't need to be with a man. If I want to be with a man, it's because I want to. At the end of the day, no man is an island. You really need to be with someone. For companionship, grow old with someone, hold someone's hand, right? So, I think at the end of the day, you have to really be with your best friend," she added.
