Ruco Chan admits to be in negotiation with record label

19 May – TVB actor Ruco Chan has recently admitted to be in talks to make a music comeback, though denied that he has already signed to a record label.

As reported on Wenweipo, the actor who spoke about rumours of his new music contract at the press conference of new drama, "Super Emissary" (working title), stated that he is currently negotiating with a record company about releasing two albums with them.

"But I have not signed any contract yet. I will let my manager handle all the negotiations," he said.

Ruco confessed that he had wanted to be a singer when he made his debut in the late '90s, but was unfortunate when his record label PolyGram went bankrupt soon after.

He added that he has been given a lot of opportunities to sing theme songs for his drama series in recent years, which helped him regain his confidence in his singing.

When mentioned about the rumours that he has a full autonomy to choose the record label he wants as part of the new term for his contract renewal with TVB, the actor denied it, saying that his current contract with the company still has several more years before its expiry.
