Rozita Che Wan wants age limit increased for social media users

25 Apr - Despite her daughter having an Instagram account with followers as many as 1.5 million, Rozita Che Wan (aka Che Ta) does think that the age limit for social media account users should be increased.

The actress, who spoke about the issue, stated that it is difficult for parents to monitor their children's phone usage seeing that kids have their own smart phones nowadays, and that the age limit would help even if only a little.

"These kids are not mature enough, and they tend to post ridiculous things or write weird comments on other people's posts," she said.

As for her own daughter Aaisyah Dhia Rana, Che Ta stressed that she and husband Zain Saidin do not let their 10-year-old control her own account and would only give Aaisyah the phone on the weekends.

"I monitor Aaisyah's Instagram. She is not allowed to post on her own. If she felt like posting something on IG Story, she would ask my permission first," she said.

Che Ta also said that she would make sure Aaisyah would not watch anything ridiculous online, and that her daughter has been taught not to be so obsessed with going on the internet.
