Roy Wang denies taking legal action against Fan Bingbing
31 Jan – Chinese singer Roy Wang (also known as Wang Yuan) has denied rumours that he is pursuing a lawsuit against actress-producer Fan Bingbing.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer's management studio issued a statement to clarify previous rumours, stressing that the singer enjoyed working alongside the actress and the production throughout their cooperation period.
The statement also noted that Roy's fee has already been settled as scheduled, and that the company will not hesitate to take legal action against those who spread such false rumours.
The response came after several media outlets reported that Wang was pursuing legal action against Fan's company. It was stated that the singer was affected by the tax evasion scandal faced by Fan due to the fact that his management company has made a collaborative deal with Fan's own studio prior to the issue.
A mainland media alleged that before the cancellation of the contract last year, Wang filmed the television series, "The Great Ruler". It was alleged that his remuneration partly went into Fan Bingbing Studio's account, which had since been frozen following her tax scandal.
On the other hand, on the same day Wang released his clarification, Fan's studio publicly denied reports about the arrear, saying that the two sides have ended the cooperation cordially, with all funds and payments already been settled.
