Roy Chow wants no lawyer to represent him in court

21 Sep – Controversial singer Roy Chow recently revealed that he has not hired any lawyer to represent him in his public brawl case.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer who spoke to the media when he appeared at the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts recently, stated that he has decided to defend himself in denying the charge against him without the presence of a lawyer as he is confident in his innocence.

"After looking at the CCTV footage and reading some of the documents, I am certain that I don't need a lawyer. You need a lot of money to hire one anyway. I still have some confidence in the Hong Kong judicial system," he said.

Roy stated that even his family were not worried of his chances in court, as they had watched the CCTV footage with him.

Back in December last year, the singer was arrested by the police after a public brawl at a convenience store in Tsim Sha Tsui. He was later charged with one count of participating in an illegal fight in public.

The case has been adjourned for a retrial on 10 December.
