Rowena Cortes denies ever dating Leslie Cheung in the past
1 Apr - Rowena Cortes recently opened up on old rumours concerning her and Leslie Cheung's supposed romance, saying that there was never such a thing at all.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who sat down for an interview with Leslie Cheung's impersonator Simon Au recently, shared that she and the late singer were actually very good friends who spent a lot of time together.
Speaking about Leslie's quirks and interests, Rowena stated that the singer really liked preserved eggs.
"Every time we had our meals, he would be staring at the preserved egg in my meal box. I would automatically give it to him," she said.
The closeness between the two were often mistook by others as a sign that they were dating, especially since Leslie liked to put his arms around her.
"He is the kind of person who likes to have a heart-to-heart with his female friends. We worked together a lot, so I became a confidant. We even played mahjong together. He really knew how to take care of his friends. There was never a boring moment with him," she said.
The 1st of April of 2020 marks the 17th year since Leslie's passing.
