Ronald Cheng makes TV comeback with ViuTV drama
13 May – Ronald Cheng and Maggie Cheung Ho Yee are making their television comeback through the upcoming ViuTV series, "Single Papa".
As reported on Mingpao, Ronald, who appeared alongside Maggie at the press conference of the said series, shared that it has been over 20 years since he starred in a television series, and that he will play the titular role in the series - a father taking care of his five-year-old son following his wife's passing.
When asked if he is not worried that people will compare the series to TVB's "Wonder Women", despite the gender reversal, Ronald said that he didn't watch the said TVB drama and wouldn't be worried about the comparison.
"I don't even watch the new dramas. I only saw the old ones," he added.
As to whether he is concerned at all that TVB will feel slighted over his decision to make his comeback with its rival network, the actor replied, "It has been many years since I last worked with TVB."
On the other hand, when mentioned about the divorce issue surrounding Gillian Chung and husband Michael Lai, Ronald smiled and said that he didn't pay any attention to it.
"I saw the news, and a lot of couple have filed for divorce since the pandemic," he said.
