Robin Padilla responds to Aljur Abrenica seeking approval
17 Jan – Actor Robin Padilla doesn't want anything else from his daughter's partner Aljur Abrenica, other than to make their relationship legal in the eyes of law.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actor, who was asked about Abrenica's statement about doing his best to get his approval, said that all he wants from the actor is for him to marry his daughter.
"I am a father, and all fathers want their children to get married. If he married her, then we won't have any issue," he said.
Padilla stated that it is not something that Abrenica should have to think too much about.
"My daughter is free to do what she wants. All I am saying is, if they want my support, they should obey my wish. If they don't want to, then they don't have to do it. Just don't make it an issue with me," he said.
In a previous interview, Abrenica stated that he understands Padilla's stance, although said nothing about marriage with Kylie.
On the other hand, Padilla's daughter Kylie stated that she needs time before getting married, having grew up as a child of divorce herself.
