Robin Padilla defends Mocha Uson

The actor says that one shouldn't judge another by their past

23 May - It takes one supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte to defend another, as Robin Padilla did for Mocha Uson recently, after she sparked criticism for her appointment as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

As reported on Manila Bulletin, the actor, who was asked to comment about the backlash surrounding Uson's appointment, stated that he doesn't see anything wrong with it.

"If there is one thing that is wrong, it is the amount of envy towards Mocha," he said.

Padilla said that one shouldn't underestimate Uson's ability just because she used to be a sexy dancer, adding that he would prefer her than "the thieves".

He maintained that the position was not lightly given to Uson, and that a lot of thought have gone into it.

"Remember, our hero Andres Bonifacio, the one who gave us our freedom had a messy past. He didn't even [finish his education]. If we continue to look at a person through his or her status in life, there is something wrong with us," he added.
