From ELLE

The best crime-solving gang since the Scooby-Doo kids will finally be back on the air. After a long summer that we got through thanks to Netflix binges, fan theories, more fan theories, and incessant shipping, Riverdale season two begins tonight with the somewhat morbid title - well, this IS Riverdale - "A Kiss Before Dying." What does that say about the fate of Fred Andrews, last seen being shot by a hooded "robber"? We'll find out.

Before we jump back into the the fog-filtered '50s nostalgic town we have all grown to love, I have some questions from season one that the show needs to answer.

(Note: Minor season two spoilers ahead if you've been avoiding Riverdale news.)

1. How dare you? How dare you shoot Luke Perry, Riverdale? Honestly, this is unacceptable. Still, there might be some hope. Archie punched through pure ice to save Cheryl from drowning - so hard that actor K.J. Apa broke his hand in the process - so I'm fully expecting Archie to pull off a second round of heroics tonight. And, judging by the trailer and photos that have been released, this seems likely.

2. Is Betty's secret brother FP's son? Sure, my favorite theory - that Alice's first-born is Kevin's Serpent ex-boyfriend Joaquin - has been proven false with the casting of Chic (how are we supposed to pronounce that?), but the sexual tension and subtext between Alice and FP is still undeniable. Remember, "snakes don't shed their skin so easily."

3. Where is Miss Grundy? 15-year-old Archie's affair with his 35-year-old music teacher was arguably the worst plot point of season one. We all breathed a heavy sigh of relief when she left town. However, their relationship (which resembled Ezra and Aria's from Pretty Little Liars) was deeply wrong. The fact that she left town, avoiding all consequences and potentially able to target another kid, just doesn't sit well with me.

4. Will we see more Josie? Actress Ashleigh Murray has been billed as a series regular and appeared on Riverdale posters right from the beginning, but somehow had less to do than, say, Kevin, who was only bumped up to a regular this season. Murray has told Teen Vogue that we'll be seeing a lot of Josie outside of the Pussycats this season, and I am here for it.

5. What's the deal with Hiram Lodge? The mysterious patriarch of the Lodge family is coming home, and he looks suspiciously like Mark Consuelos. The Godfather-like character was an invisible force driving Hermione and Veronica's decisions throughout season one. Can the actual man behind the pearl necklaces and threatening letters live up to the hype? And what will he think of homegrown Archie dating his daughter?

6. How will witchcraft affect Riverdale? It's been announced that Sabrina the Teenage Witch is getting a Riverdale spinoff, and we know how much The CW loves a good crossover. But what does that mean for a show that has so far been rooted in reality? Yes, Cole Sprouse and co. have described the genre of season two as "horror," but is there really room for the supernatural in this town? The producers are hinting that there is. Plus, the Archie comics have dabbled in the world of zombies, and are set in the same universe as Sabrina.
