River Hongbao 2025: Bring in CNY with huge firecracker display
Thrilling performances, dazzling lantern displays, and interactive exhibits that capture the spirit of Chinese New Year. It’s all happening at Gardens by the Bay‘s River Hongbao 2025. The annual festival returns from 27 Jan to 5 Feb to combine cherished traditions and exciting festivities.
Carnival rides, cultural workshops, and live arts performances will be scattered across Gardens by the Bay, creating a fun experience for the whole family as we ring in the Year of the Snake.
The festival also brings back some all-time favourites, including the sweeping lantern displays and their iconic firecrackers.
In commemoration of SG60, River Hongbao 2025 will have a Singapore-themed installation at the Supertree Grove. This display celebrates our nation’s origins, depicting a majestic Merdeka Lion. It is a reminder of how far we have come as a country.
As you wander through the venue, reflect on your aspirations for yourself and Singapore as we enter this milestone year. When you need a break, head down over to Food Street.
Enjoy classic bazaar treats like Tornado Potatoes, Sugarcane drinks, and Fish and Chips. Moreover, traditional delicacies such as Muah Chee and Char Kuey Sotong will also be available. That sounds like all the best Singaporean delights in one place!
Now comes the true highlight of River Hongbao: firecrackers!
From 27 to 29 Jan, there will be firecracker showcases at the Cai Shen Ye (God of Wealth) installation. It is believed that the light and noise help to ward off negative energy and bring good luck and prosperity. This year, the firecracker show will be held at the Meadow.
Firecracker Display:
27 & 29 Jan: 8pm
28 Jan: 12am
Have a blast with your loved ones and enjoy the festivities at River Hongbao 2025.
