Rita Ora channels Adriana from The Sopranos in fur coat and animal print flares
It's official: the mob wife aesthetic has taken over.
If you've somehow managed to miss the sartorial update, this is the latest viral trend to emerge courtesy of TikTok, following in the likes of quiet outdoors, the coquette aesthetic, tomato girl and cottagecore. And it has been fully embraced by everyone with their finger on the fashion pulse, including some of our fave celebs.
At the Mean Girls remake film premiere, Avantika channelled the look in a teal fluffy coat and sequin mini dress. And just yesterday, Suki Waterhouse put her own spin on the trend when she went for a very stylish drive accompanied by an equally chic dog.
Now, Rita Ora is the latest star to get in on the look. The singer is currently in France for Paris Fashion Week and stepped out in between shows wearing a head-to-toe Roberto Cavalli outfit comprised of the unofficial mob wife uniform.
Her floor-sweeping brown faux fur coat was layered over a desert gradient silk shirt worn open over a patchwork leather and woven bra. Rita added leather animal print flares and brown patent shoes as well as accessorising with a flowing silk scarf wrapped around her neck, a seashell pendant necklace and a coral fringe Fang bag slung over her arm. The entire ensemble is from Roberto Cavalli's Spring Summer 2024 collection.
The maximalist 'fit is bang on trend with the mob wife aesthetic, with faux fur and animal print key signifiers of the look. Plus, with Rita's ombre hair styled down in loose waves, she could have doubled as Adriana La Cerva, portrayed by Drea de Matteo on the TV show The Sopranos.
Fans were quick to take to the comments section to compliment Rita's ensemble, including Vanessa Hudgens who wrote, "And no one does it like you ❤️".
