Rick Owens Shows Striking Feather-Like Boots for Fall 2025 in Paris
Rick Owens is never one to disappoint when it comes to new and interesting footwear innovations.
And the American designer did just that at his fall/winter 2025 men’s show at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris on Thursday, serving up a collection filled with showstopping shoes.

The shoes that caught everyone’s attention came via multiple pairs of oversized boots that recall the feet of feathered roosters in the wild. Done in collaboration with Parisian designer Victor Clavelly, the boots are made with heavyweight Groppone cow leather.
Pieces of the leather are laser cut and woven together by hand to create a chain linked effect. Clavelly, who specializes in designs that exaggerate the body, then placed the leather in a way to make the pieces appear to flair out towards the bottom of the boot for a feather-like appearance.
The silhouette harkens back to the inflated rubber pull-on stretch boots that Owens created in collaboration with London designer Straytukay for fall 2024. The boots were seen again for spring 2025 in a pared-down, leaner silhouette.
Other shoe highlights for fall 2025 came in the form of the Factory boot. Owens described this model as a recreation of the height and inclination of the brand’s famous Kiss boot, but with an extra stable industrial sole for “steady footing on factory stairs.”
Owens’ factory inspiration was a common theme for fall 2025. The collection, dubbed “Concordians,” is an ode to the small industrial Italian town of Concordia where Owens does much of his production.
“Naming this collection Concordians, I was thinking about my 22 years of traveling to our factory,” Owens wrote in his show notes. “And not just alone but with my team, all traveling from their respective glittering cities – to live here in a kind of studious isolation. Almost bleakness. This cloistered life seems to be what it takes to be able to focus on reaching for something weird and wonderful…. I want to depend on less things but make them as supernatural as possible.”
