Richard Yap inks deal with GMA

17 Dec – Richard Yap is now officially a Kapuso after inking a management contract with GMA Artist Center.

As reported on GMA News, the actor, who appeared at the GMA building on 16 December for the said contract signing event, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to him by the network.

"I can't believe it. A year ago or a few months ago, I would not even think that this would be possible. Now that I am already here, I am really grateful to GMA for betting on me at this time of pandemic when many stations are letting go of people... I guess I'm just so lucky to be accepted and to be a part of GMA," he said.

Yap admitted that he had thought about working with the network in the past, as he did receive a lot of offers.

"I was really curious to try it out, and I also have friends in GMA. So I was really interested to know because they were so happy with being a Kapuso. That's what got my interest," he said.

Yap has always been with ABS-CBN since he started his career in acting, and was signed to Regal Entertainment before deciding to transfer network following ABS-CBN's shutdown.
