Restaurant-quality hawker YukiDon opens 2nd outlet at Bishan early Sep 2023
Lauded for consistent quality bowls of donburi, YukiDon will be bringing their plateful donburis to Singapore’s Central region in early Sep 2023. Their new outlet will be located at Bishan cafeteria, right above the interchange.
Its first location, a nondescript Woodlands coffeeshop (Blk 354A), has been dubbed a hidden gem – high praise for a hawker stall with steeper-than-average prices.
Their Salmon Mentaiyaki Don (S$13.90) is the ideal bowl for anyone looking to down a chunky cut of seared salmon sauced up with a generous layer of mentaiko. Unsurprisingly, it is a best-seller on their mouth-watering menu. If you prefer more inexpensive salmon, have a go at their Salmon Katsu Don and Salmon Teriyaki Don for a reasonable S$10 each.
Of course, a Japanese menu simply can’t exist without beef. The Truffle Yakiniku Steak (S$14.90) comes as the premium option but for easy bites, Beef Shogayaki Don (S$12.90) offers beef cubes instead. The budget-centric still have the Beef Burger Don, priced at an affordable S$7.90.
Ebi options are the regal-sized Mentaiyaki King Prawn Don (S$16.90) and smaller Ebi Fry Don (S$8.90) to appease your tempura cravings. The classic Chicken Katsu Don (S$8.90) or grilled Tori Teriyaki Don (S$8.90) can also do the job on a less adventurous day.
All rice bowls are topped with a slow-cooked onsen egg and garnished with sliced cucumbers. If those aren’t enough, throw in more sides like Chicken Karaage (S$5.90) or Mentai Gyoza (S$6.90).
