The new trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is out. The Resident Evil franchise has thrived cinematically, thanks to several hit horror games. Fans of the games were outraged when the movies deviated so much from the source material. The franchise is now looking to rectify the mistake.

When the original Resident Evil game was released in 1998, it was a commercial and critical triumph. It spawned multiple sequel games, comic books, novels, and a hugely profitable film franchise. The franchise was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich. Sony Pictures have given a glimpse into the new film by releasing the trailer.

Kaya Scodelario will play Claire Redfield. Robbie Amell will play Kaya’s brother Chris. Claire will follow Chris into the infamous Spencer mansion after he disappears. The other cast members will join them too. They include Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, Lily Gao plays Ada Wong, and Hannah John-Kammen portrays Jill Valentine.

Every story has a beginning. Discover the origin of evil

All the actors as well as the director have lauded how frightening the latest Resident Evil film is. The audience can taste the horror themselves by watching the trailer. The video begins with Scodelario’s Claire Redfield saying, “Every story has a beginning. Discover the origin of evil,” and it seems like she has one goal: to expose Umbrella. The video swiftly devolves into chaos as the t-Virus spreads over Raccoon City and two teams arrive at Spencer Mansion to figure out what’s going on.

Hardcore Resident Evil fans are undoubtedly happy to see the Welcome to Raccoon City teaser. It marks a triumphant return for the franchise as well as it does justice to Resident Evil games’ respect. The gruesome elements of the video are more by the tone of the games. Jovovich’s franchise has its charms; people have long wished for a genuine rendition of the story.

The film will premiere exclusively in theatres on November 24. There’s a lot to look forward to in the upcoming film, from the creepy cover of 4 Non-Blondes’ “What’s Up” to the horrific zombies and monsters that inhabit Spencer Mansion.
