Netflix's most engrossing (fictional) serial killer will return for another season.
The streaming giant has renewed its hit thriller You for a fourth season, days before the release of Season 3 on October 15. Dropping two years after its last installment, the new episodes followed new dad Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as he moves to a tech-y Northern California suburb with his jealous, homicidal wife Love (Victoria Pedretti). Joe being Joe, he soon got wrapped up in a new love interest/stalking victim, with his wild adventures escalating barely made it out of Madre Linda alive.
"Reading Caroline [Kepnes'] novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view," You creator Sera Gamble told Variety. "And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life. We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past 3 seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in Season 4."

Spoilers for You Season 3 ahead. Joe ended his time in Madre Linda with a literal explosion, killing Love after she tried to kill him and his new romantic obsession, Marienne the Librarian (Tati Gabrielle). After framing Love for his own death, he left his infant son Henry with a pair of loving parents, and fled the country. The final scene shows Joe in Paris(!) promising to search the world to find Marienne.
Though we hope the young mom and her daughter will stay hidden, it's likely that Gabrielle will show up in Season 4, either through the present storyline or flashback scenes. Beyond her and Badgley, the show will probably bring on an entirely new cast, as it has in the first three seasons. It's too early to tell what Joe will get up to in the City of Lights, but whatever happens, it's sure to get bloody.
