Remy Ishak reveals son's name as Tuah Alam

21 Aug – Remy Ishak finally revealed the name of his first son, nearly a month after announcing his birth.

Revealing that he and wife Ezza have named their baby Tuah Alam, the actor, real name Mohammad Zalimei Ishak, stated that he has always wanted a very Malay name for his child.

"Even when I was still single, I've thought about a name with a Malay element. I discussed this with [my wife] Ezza, and she agreed. When I came up with the name, she okayed it," he said.

Aside from Tuah Alam, Remy said that he actually had several other names as well, including Tuah Arjuna and Tuah Alexander, the latter inspired by Iskandar Zulkarnain.

As for the name Tuah, Remy said that it is not only the name of the legendary Malay warrior, but also means "fortune". Meanwhile, the name "Alam" comes from the first three alphabet of Alif Lam Mim in Surah Al-Baqarah of the Quran.

Remy and Ezza, who tied the knot in 2021, welcomed their first baby boy on 27 July.
