Remember ‘The Pepsi Girl’ of the '90s? Enjoy Some Refreshing Nostalgia (Plus: What She's Up to Now!)

She was the curly-haired cutie convincing people to drink Pepsi. Here's where she is today

“The Pepsi Girl” is now all grown up!

Back in the late '90s to the early 2000s,  Hallie Kate Eisenberg could not have made an ice-cold Pepsi look cuter — and she convinced plenty of big-name stars to come along for the ride.

The child star was known for being Pepsi’s curly-haired spokesgirl in a series of commercials alongside high-profile celebrities, including Aretha Franklin, Faith Hill and Jeff Gordon.

At six years old, the curly-haired, dimpled Eisenberg became known as “The Pepsi Girl.” Out of the many spots she acted in, one of the most memorable paid homage to the film trilogy The Godfather

In honor of Pepsi’s 125th anniversary this year, PEOPLE is taking a nostalgic look back at the Super Bowl spot, which featured Eisenberg ordering a Pepsi at a diner but is given a Coke instead. The girl then starts to negotiate, in the Italian-accented voice of Vito Corleone, with the waiter until she gets her way.

“We both know I ordered a Pepsi-Cola. And now you’ve insulted me and my entire family by offering me this,” Eisenberg's line went. "Being a civilized person, I’d like to give you the chance to make amends. Capiche?”

Eisenberg got her start in acting thanks to her elder brother, Jesse Eisenberg, now 40, who went on to become an Oscar-nominated actor and writer.

“He was switching agents one day and I was a baby so I came along for the ride,” Eisenberg recalled in a 2000 talk show interview. “They asked my mom and I if they could send me out on things so we said ‘Sure.’”

The success of the commercial put the young star on the Hollywood map; she then launched a career in TV and film. Some of her most notable roles include starring in Paulie (1998), The Miracle Worker (2000) and How to Eat Fried Worms (2006).

After her feature in Holy Rollers in 2010, however, Eisenberg left the industry to pursue higher education. She studied at the American University School of Public Affairs in Washington D.C. and graduated with a degree in International Studies in 2014.

Now 31, the former "Pepsi Girl" has chosen to remain out of the spotlight and has left the entertainment industry behind. Her social media accounts are private as well, but a link in her Instagram bio still shows support for her brother’s directorial career, linking to When You Finish Saving the World
