Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava are the best dressed mother and daughter duo
Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava Phillippe had a matching fashion moment this week, when they both attended an ocean conservation event in LA.
The Morning Show actress and her 23-year-old daughter walked the red carpet at an event hosted by Oceana – an organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring the world's oceans on a global scale – and chose to co-ordinate in strapless summer ensembles for the occasion.
Witherspoon wore a pastel green mini-dress, while her daughter chose an equally chic white strapless jumpsuit (swipe through the Instagram carousel below to see). The pair both wore their blonde locks in beachy California waves.
Witherspoon posted a picture to her Instagram account showing just how similar the pair look up close, with their similarly glowing complexions and soft brown 'latte' eye make-up.
This isn't the first time that the mother-daughter duo have had a matching moment; Witherspoon and Phillippe are regulars when it comes to co-ordinated dressing and have done so over the years at various red-carpet events.
Many other famous mother-and-daughter duos love to match – from Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber to Gwyneth Paltrow and Apple Martin – with Kate Winslet and her daughter Mia Threapleton having a sweet co-ordinating moment at the BAFTAs earlier this year.
Just like Witherspoon and Phillipe, the pair dressed in matching monochrome dresses, with Winslet wearing an asymmetric black dress with black court heels, while her daughter opted for a halterneck jumpsuit with a nude waist detail. They both styled their hair in similar relaxed messy buns, finished with a pair of statement earrings.
Witherspoon shares Ava with her former husband, the actor Ryan Phillippe. They welcomed Ava in 1999, followed by her brother Deacon four years later. She shares a third child, 10-year-old Tennessee, with her second husband, the talent agent Jim Toth.
Witherspoon stars alongside Jennifer Aniston in the highly-anticipated third season of The Morning Show – a workplace drama navigating the aftermath of sexual misconduct allegations against a former colleague – which premieres on 13 September.
