Kylie Minogue Minogue was first introduced to the Australian soap, Neighbours, back in 1986, when her character, Charlene Robinson, took the show by storm as a feisty, loveable tomboy.

For the two years that Kylie was on the show, she was a fan favourite. Training as a mechanic before beginning a relationship with Scott Robinson, played by Jason Donovan, Kylie, along with Jason, boosted ratings for the show and fans were desperate to see them end up together. Despite breaking up several times, the couple married in 1987, attracting an audience of over 19.6 million.

Fans of Neighbours are devastated that the show is coming to an end, this week. Even if you're not a fan of the show, or perhaps you watched it back in the 80s and haven't since, you'll know that the ending of friendships on Ramsay Street is devastating to soap fans.

Kylie's Instagram throwback features a black and white photo of her near the water, rocking her iconic perm and reigniting the flame of memories in many fans. Quick to comment on the post was Kylie's sister, Dannii Minogue, co-star and singer Natalie Imbrugia, and hundreds of fans.

Friday 29th of July will see a 90-minute finale. Harold, Susan, Toadie and Paul have all returned for the ending, and Kylie and Jason, Guy Pearce, Holly Valance, Natalie Imbrugia and Jesse Spencer all making cameos, much to the delight of fans.

Earlier this month, Kylie shared a post to Instagram announcing that a limited run of her hit song, Especially for You, with Jason Donovan, is available on vinyl and cassette until the 5th of August - so many 80s memories!
