Puteri Sarah Liyana arrives in court to file for divorce

16 Jan - Just like she said she would do last week, Puteri Sarah Liyana appeared at the Syariah Lower Court in Kuala Lumpur on 16 January to file for divorce.

The actress was seen waving to the media as she arrived around 10.25am alongside her lawyer, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader and two other family members.

Asked about her feelings, Puteri Sarah stated that she feels motivated as she woke up that morning.

"I came back from the set at 1am. But now I am prepared and determined, especially with my family with me. Please pray for me," she said.

Puteri Sarah shared last week that she has made up her mind about her marriage with filmmaker Syamsul Yusof.

"A lot of people said I rejected polygamy or that I am against it. They also said that I am going against God. It's not true. Only I, Syamsul, and his new wife, as well as JAWI know what happened. I think enough is enough," she said.

It was two weeks ago that Syamsul announced that he has married Ira Kazar in Thailand despite previously keeping mum about the nature of their relationship.

Puteri Sarah and Syamsul tied the knot in 2014. The couple have two children together; son Syaikhul Islam and daughter Sumayyah.
