‘The Punisher’ Recruits Paul Schulze, Others For Netflix’s New Marvel Series

Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie) has been cast as a series regular in Netflix’s upcoming The Punisher. One of five newly announced castings for the Marvel’s Daredevil spinoff, Schulze will play Rawlins, a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with topliner Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle.

The other newcomers include Daniel Webber (11.22.63), Jason R. Moore (A Lonely Place for Dying), Jaime Ray Newman (Bates Motel) and, as reported exclusively by Deadline earlier today, Michael Nathanson (The Knick, Wolf of Wall Street).

Schulze and the others join series regulars Ben Barnes and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Nathanson will play Homeland Security agent Sam Stein.

Webber will play Lewis Walcott, a young veteran having a difficult time re-assimilating into civilian society; Moore joins as Curtis Hoyle, one of few people who knows Castle is alive; and Newman will play Sarah Lieberman, wife to Micro (Moss-Bachrach).

Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) will write the series’ first two episodes and serve as showrunner and Executive Producer. Jim Chory will also serve as Executive Producer along with Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television.

Marvel’s The Punisher is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. It is set to debut in 2017.

Schulze is repped by Kyle Fritz Management and Innovative Artists.
