Producer Ella Chan: Miriam Yeung is always the first choice

16 Mar – Drama producer Ella Chan has denied rumours saying that she originally wanted Sheren Tang to play the lead in her comeback drama, "Wonder Women", but later changed to Miriam Yeung.

As reported on Mingpao, the producer, who spoke about her first TVB drama in 16 years, shared that she had wanted to cast Miriam since day one as they shared similar ideas about the kind of project they would like to do.

"But I am familiar with Sheren. I hope that we will have the opportunity to work together in the future," she said.

Chan also added that the role is more suitable for Miriam and was tailor made for her.

As to whether she is coming back to TVB for good, Chan said that she has agreed to produce the aforementioned drama first for now, as she still has other projects to complete in mainland China.

"But I have to admit that I do miss Hong Kong," said Chan, who has been working in the mainland for the last 15 years.

As for the upcoming drama, Chan revealed that they will be filming it around Hong Kong first before going to Beijing and Tokyo for the overseas shoot.

Known as the golden producer, Chan previously produced some of TVB's biggest hit dramas in the 1990s, including "The Lady of Iron", "Fate of the Clairvoyant", "A Kindred Spirit", and "Healing Hands II".
