Princess Leonor of Asturias Wears White Power Suit for Swearing-In Ceremony
Princess Leonor of Asturias took to her royal duties dressed in a striking all-white power suit. In celebration of her 18th birthday, the princess swore allegiance to the Spanish Constitution before the Spanish parliament on Tuesday.
The coming-of-age tradition, which took place at the nation’s parliament building, Palacio de las Cortes, in Madrid, paves the way for her eventual succession as queen.
The princess exuded confidence in a white double-breasted suit by Sastreria Serna, off-white leather heels by Lodi, and diamond earrings. She wore her hair into a sleek low ponytail, pulled back from the governmental medals and the Collar of the Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Carlos III on her neck.
In front of a crowd of hundreds and national television, Leonor pledged “to faithfully carry out my duties, to keep and uphold the constitution and the laws, and respect the rights of citizens and the autonomous communities and loyalty to the king.” She was accompanied by her father, King Felipe, 55, who took the same pledge in 1986 when he came of age; her mother, Queen Letizia, 51; and her sister, Princess Sofia, 16.
With the look, she followed the steps of elder stylish royalsPrincess Kate and Duchess Meghan. The Princess of Wales stunned in white most recently while attending the Rugby World Cup in September. She donned a lovely all-white pantsuit composed of wide-leg trousers, white shirt, and single-breasted blazer by Alexander McQueen, which she wore the year before at the Commonwealth Games.
The Duchess of Sussex looked sophisticated in white while attending the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit in October. Her monochromatic outfit was composed of an off-the-shoulder top, wide-leg pants, and beige Aquazzura pumps.
