Princess Diana’s Niece Kitty Spencer Revealed She's a Mom in a Heartwarming Mother's Day Post

All eyes have been on the royal family recently, as online speculation has reached a fever pitch over Kate Middleton's ongoing absence from public duties following an abdominal surgery in January. Given the intense scrutiny, it's perhaps all the more impressive that Lady Kitty Spencer, the niece of the late Princess Diana, managed to pull off a truly unexpected surprise this UK Mother's Day by revealing that she's become a mom.

The model, who married Michael Lewis in an opulent three-day celebration outside of Rome in 2021, had not previously announced that she was expecting, making her Instagram post for the holiday especially attention-grabbing.

The video features a series of snaps of Kitty with her child, walking on the beach, and being held in her arms. Though the baby's name and gender weren't revealed in the post, Kitty did write in the caption to the post, "It’s the joy of my life to be your mummy, little one. I love you unconditionally Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate today"

As she's the daughter of Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer, Kitty's child will be a cousin to Prince William's three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The trio of Wales kids made news themselves over the weekend, when a photo of the royal siblings with their mom, Kate Middleton, that Kensington Palace shared for Mother's Day was recalled by numerous major photo agencies. The Associated Press stated that the recall was prompted because "it appears that the source has manipulated the image." Kate issued a personal apology for the photo editing earlier today.
