The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, has awarded actor Daniel Craig with The Order of St Michael and St George.

A post on The Royal Family official social media account shared the news and why this award was particularly special, explaining that The Order of St Michael and St George is the same honour held by Craig's beloved character, James Bond.

Craig starred as James Bond in five films in the franchise. The actor played James Bond in Casino Royal, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die.

Of course, this isn't the first time that Daniel Craig has met with members of the Royal Family. To make the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012, Craig starred in an incredible video with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The actor portrayed James Bond showing up to Buckingham Palace to escort Her Majesty to the Olympics.

Daniel Craig also met Her Majesty the Queen before the Olympics, out of character, when she attended the premiere for Casino Royale in 2006. A particularly special moment depicted the actor shaking hands with the Queen, while Her Majesty grinned widely.
