Prince Louis Made His Royal Christmas Concert Debut With His Siblings

Prince George and Princess Charlotte first attended the holiday event last year.

Ahead of this year's Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey, rumors surfaced about Prince Louis potentionally making his debut at the big event. Today, those royal rumblings turned out to be true, with Princess Kate and Prince William's youngest son joining his older siblings for the annual event for the very first time. People adds that before the royal children actually made their way into Westminster Abbey, they stopped for a very important detour. The trio headed to a red mailbox outside Westminster Abbey and placed envelopes inside.

They weren't letters to Santa, though. This year, children all over the U.K. were encouraged to send cards to other kids who might be struggling. According to royal reporter Rebecca English, George, Charlotte, and Louis all wrote their own cards. After the mailbox, Louis held hands with William and Charlotte held hands with Kate as they headed inside for the event.

The Cambridge children weren't the only royal kids in attendance. Princess Beatrice came with her stepson, Christopher Woolf, and Peter Phillips's two daughters — Savannah and Isla — were also present and accounted for. Lord Frederick Windsor and Sophie Winkleman's children also came for the festivities. 

This year's concert included performances by Westminster Abbey's choir, Adam Lambert, and Beverley Knight. The evening also included a reading by Prince William. This year's event is also linked to Kate’s Shaping Us campaign, which shines a spotlight on her passion supporting families and children during the early years of their lives. The palace shared that the event was organized to “thank all those who work to support babies, young children and families in our communities across the U.K. and a celebration of the golden opportunity that the birth of a new baby brings."
