So by now, we’re all well aware that Prince Harry has a memoir coming out about his life both in and out of the spotlight, right? Right/can’t wait to read/project it straight into my eyeballs, etc. And naturally, the royals are spiraling and assuming the worst—but a source tells Page Six that the Duke of Sussex does “not consider” the memoir to be a “f*ck you” to his family and that he’s simply telling his “truth” in the book.

However, royal insiders don’t seem convinced, with one telling Page Six:

“On what planet does Harry think that this is not a ‘f–k you’ to the family?”

I mean…all Harry’s doing is telling his story! But either way, he did give his family a heads-up about the memoir, with a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex telling Entertainment Tonight that he—as the outlet put it—“recently had a private conversation with his family about the book,” although he “would not be expected to get permission for a project like this from the palace.”

Harry also released a statement of his own about the book, saying, “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
